"Pick up Kelly Karate Meets the Mayan Queen and you'll find Mexican cooking, oddball pyramids, shape-shifters, witches, slinky anacondas, an evil princess, one great bling-bling of a magical stone, and gigantic, demonic ducks. Okay, so I'm kidding about the ducks. But the point is, if you can't find something to enthrall and entertain you in this novel, you're a definite odd duck with more problems than even poor Kelly! The irrepressible Susan Barnes has struck again."

REVIEW

Kelly Karate Meets the Mayan Queen
by Susan Barnes

This is a wonderful fantasy teen type adventure involving time travel, lots of intrigue and mystery, and above all the spiritual thread of life and magic intertwine to make this the type of read that would equal a chocolate Sunday after a good meal. Young hearts and minds can be hard to capture at times and Susan has succeeded beautifully at both.

I enjoyed this voyage of creativity very much and I believe it has all the elements necessary to be called one of those books that anyone would enjoy curling up with. Easy to read, Susan's ability to describe the scenes in such vivid detail helps to bring the reader right along, and a few hours later dropped me safely back on my bed. Well, done Susan and may you bring us many more.
